Options is our longest-running community project, established in the mid-1990s. It began with a desire to support women and girls experiencing the emotional impact of an unplanned pregnancy.
From the outset, the aim has been to provide a safe, calm and confidential place where individuals can talk openly, explore their situation and consider their options without pressure or judgment.
Our team uses supportive listening skills to help people navigate what they are facing. We are here to listen, talk through your options and give you space to share difficult feelings.
Options is not a counselling service. Our trained volunteer practitioners offer time, understanding, supportive listening and clear information, helping you to explore your situation and make your own informed decisions.
All our volunteer practitioners have completed specialist training and undertake ongoing training and development. We operate a full confidentiality policy to help ensure privacy and trust.
If you are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, our practitioners will give you the time and space you need, offering impartial and non-directive support. Options does not refer clients directly for abortion. Our role is to provide information and support as you explore the options available to you and make your own decision.
Options also provides sensitive, ongoing support for women following a termination, miscarriage or stillbirth. Whatever your situation, we are here to listen and support you as you find your way forward.
