Debt is one of the main problems facing people all over the world at this present time and South East Kent is no exception. There are many finding the burden almost too difficult to bear even seeing suicide as the only way out. Often people feel ashamed and don’t know who to turn to in their time of crisis.
CAP is a highly reputable and nationally recognised charity which offers assistance to people facing the debt problem. SKCC has taken on the running of a CAP centre for the Shepway area. Angela Burnett is the centre manager and, ably assisted by her team of volunteers, has already helped many clients since the Centre began in early 2007. Some of these clients have committed to the Christian faith, and others have had their personal situations turned round through the good offices of CAP.
Clients are visited in their homes and whoever visits always prays in the home before getting down to business. Many of the people helped recognise that prayer has been the key factor in resolving their financial situation and also bringing healing to broken lives and families.
