Youth Work

My name is Adrian Griffin, otherwise known as Spade' and I am the full-time youth-worker for SKCC. I am married to Sarah and we have a daughter called Bryony and twins Seren and Madoc. We moved from Manchester to Folkestone in 2008 so that I could take on the role of youth-worker. I'm originally from Wales and proud of it! We've got a tabby cat called Tash and I love the T.V programmes spooks and 24 - i'm a wannabe spy!

We have about thirty 11-18 year olds in our youth and they're a good group! We have a varied programme. My vision statement is to 'make memories and make disciples'. Our aim for the youth is for them to find their identity in Jesus, to provide solid foundations on which to build, based on the Bibile, prayer, church, their calling and the Holy Spirit.

We try to tackle life's big questions and issues so that young people are equipped in each are of their lives throughout the week, not just on a Sunday.

 Youth Church

3G Youth church meets fortnightly 10:15am - 12:15pm, in Millfield. The magazine-style format includes games, worship (youth band), snacks, a short talk and small discussion groups.

On alternate Sundays the group link with main church in KCollege, at 10:30am where Y7-Y9 regularly enjoy their group "Get Salted" and Y10-Y11 have a similar monthly option.

 Youth Club

Our youth club, 3G Phenomena meets each Friday at Millfield from 6:30 - 8:30pm. We come together to have LOTS of fun and to get to know each other better!!

Each term includes "special events" such as wide-games, pamper evenings, ten pin bowling, ice skating, parties, games/film nights and a whole lot more!

 Youth Cells

On alternate weeks we hold 3G Cells.

For 11-14 year olds the cell is on a Monday night from 6:30-8:00pm. The aim of the cell is to provide a time for the youth to ask questions and to look at what the Bible says in a relevant and fun way.

For 14-18 year olds the cell is on a Tuesday night from 7:00-8:30pm. The aim of the cell is the same as the younger group but we study the Bible in greater depth. We also spend time looking at ways to develop a practical relationship with God (through Bible study, personal devotions etc).

For Cell venues please contact the church office on 01303 251555.
